Surfs up.. Well kinda!

MicBee was home this weekend. So Sat was a trip to the coast to meet the lads for a surf. Started off small and got some nice lefts and rights and then the swell started to kick in. Think I managed to get one decent wave. The rest were a good size but either dumping ya or closin out. Gutted. Ended up just gettin frustrated so decided to call it a day and go for some dinner with the future wife and her family. Good times.
Hopefully the next surf session will prove to be better!

Doesnt count...

So we played another match against the foxes last week. I scored my 1st goal of the cup and was super stoked. Then the match got cancelled due to someone needing 1st aid attention (how inconsiderate lol) and we ended up just playin a scrimmage.
I ended up scoring another goal in that and it still doesn't count. Rage! Lol. Playin a rematch against them this Thurs. Don't reckon we'll have as strong a team against them but hopefully can get some goals a again and maybe go for the hat-trick!

Tridents For The Win!!

Played an ice hockey match against the Foxes last night... Went out in the 1st period a bit too relaxed. Started well and scored 2 goals. But it wasn't too long until the foxes responded with 2 quick goals. Finishing the 1st period 3-2 to the Tridents. After gettin our act together we went out like a new team on the 2nd and 3rd period and managed to win the game 13-3.
Good times

Hopefully that'll boost our confidence for the game against the Spitfires next week

New House

Got the keys for our new house on Friday!!!! Can't believe I'm a home owner. Apparently that makes me grown up?! I reckon it means I have more responsibility but it'll be a while yet before I'm grown up! Lol

Ok so it's been a while but... I figured I'd get back on this by tellin you that I got instagram on my iPhone. I know that most people have had it for ages and it took me a while, but I'm here now and it's awesome. I haven't taken any new photos yet but have just been editin old ones. Such good fun!
I reckon it's opened the artistic side of things again for me which had been gone for a while but we found it!

Ice Hockey...

Well it was hockey night last night... 1st game of the Winter Cup. Tridents vs Prowlers. Match was good tho we (the Tridents) lost. Slightly gutted but still had a great game. Our team played well and it was a great learning experience for us! Can't wait to get back to practice tomo night!

Soul Surfer...

Went to see this at the cinema last night. Bethany Hamilton is an amazing person and such an inspiration to others. The fact that she lost her arm in a shark attack and managed to overcome fears and obstacles and get back in the water, and to be surfing again and not only competing in but winning competitions is awesome! The fact that she trusted God through it all and has inspired so many others to overcome the challenges they face is incredible. Very emotional movie but very worthwhile to see! I highly recommend it!

Fresh Start..

So was at Unchained tonight... Our monthly evening event in Church! Was good to see so many people there worshiping and getting to engage with God. It was good to get to be a part of that and be filled to start the week out refreshed. Am actually lookin forward to this week now. Think the prospect of being off for a few days at the end of it to go to see the Euro Surf championships in Bundy might be a plus but whatever it is I'm in a good mood!

What makes you happy?!

I've been reading a surf mag that has been debating what's better between airs and power surfing. Both have good pros and cons. Gettin that big carve down the wave can be an amazing ride and give ya a good thrill but throwing your board of the lip to do some sort of air grab move looks good and if you can land it gives you a sense of achievement. My thoughts. Do whatever makes you happy! People in the surf line up are sometimes too busy tryin to do what others think they should be doin, and yeah that's great in certain situations (like the pro tour) but my advice... Forget the others. Do it for the thrill and excitement like you got on that 1st ever wave you caught.. The reason you started surfing in the 1st place!

It's Friday and the weekend has arrived. Just a few hours in work and then I'm free! Here's what I'm hopin for this weekend... Some surf action.. Possibly today or Sunday. Maybe a bit of banter with the mates and time to chill out.
Here's what's actually happenin... Mates are busy, I've got to go check out suits for the wedding and then am playin for my bro's band. Ah well...

The Gig...

The acoustic gig was great tonight.. some class acts playin.. I did a cover of Fleetwood Mac's Dreams and then a striped back version of Guns n Roses' Sweet Child o' Mine.. reckon it'll go on my set list for any other gigs im gonna be doin! Hopefully wont be too long to the next one!

Got Stressed!

Ever had a moment where someone just stresses ya out? Well that's what it was like last night!
Was at training for our ice hockey match in a few weeks time and they were trying to sort out lines.
Now I'm not the best player but I'm quick. That wasn't the case for one of the other guys on my line.
Here's the dilemma. He doesn't think anything is wrong with just standing and watching the play. But when you need a winger he's not there... It makes me want to punch him in the face. Lol ok maybe I'm over reacting. But seriously man... SKATE!!!

The Start...

1st blog.. figured id just keep it simple and say hello..
Playin at an acoustic gig in the Kings Head tonight in Belfast.. doin some American Classics.. hopefully it'll go down well. Looking forward to hearing some of the other acts and hoping they wont show me up lol! Lot of talented people on the line up at this generally.. should be fun if nothing else.
