Mental day

So Sat was a bit crazy... Started off coachin trampolining in the leisure centre in the mornin for a few hours and had planned to hit the coast after for a surf. Still managed to hit the coast but that was after Carl text to see if I could give Col a hand coachin a surf lesson for a kids birthday party to get a few hours. Of course I thought this was a great idea. So headed home from the leisure centre to pick up my lovely wife and head straight to the port. Got up there and straight into a lesson with the kids for a couple of hours. Then once that manic lesson was over and we'd put away the gear there was just enough time to get a wee surf in before headin home to drop the wife off again before heading to Craigavon to play with my band that night. Then after all that I eventually got home about 11pm. Busy busy day but think what made it worse was I was silly and "forgot" (didn't take time) to eat anything substantial. I think the most I had that day was a cuppa coffee a wispa Gold half a bottle of diet coke and a bottle of water. Which then in turn caused me to wake up the following day with a bangin head. I've never had a hangover, but I'm assumin that was worse... Lesson learnt... No matter how busy you are. EAT!
Hopefully this weekend will be less manic!

Long time.. No posts!

Flip me its been a while since I've been on here.. What to tell ya. Well I'm now a fully qualified surf lifesaver and well on my way to becoming a surf instructor. A group of us did our surf lifesaving and instructors course a few weeks ago. A lot of valuable information when you're in the water as much as I am,and good craic with it. Just need to get some pictures of my skills in surfing and do a few hours coachin with a surf school and thanks to Troggs I've managed to get on the ball with a few lessons already.
Shouldn't be too long til I'm fully qualified.

A bit wet... But who cares...

Well it's Friday and the start of a long weekend. A soggy wet weekend that is... Nic and I are headin to Benone for a bit of a campin trip. Packin the boards and hopin for waves! But our main concern is havin to possibly use them to get back outta the field that the tent is to be pitched... Ah well whatever the weather I reckon we'll have a great time away. Maybe we'll be blessed with some sunshine that seems to grace the north coast more than anywhere else! Went for a skate yesterday with my wee cousin to realise I badly need my skates sharpened. Thanks to Chris that's gonna get sorted this weekend as he's takin them to Stevie to get sharpened while I'm away. Cheers boss!

Previously...

So last time I was waitin... The email eventually came and I passed :o) I now just have to wait for a postin and I'm boss lol. What also eventually came was Surf... Managed to get some swell on the North Coast. Started off with a nice unexpected set at PBT on 8th July with Colin and Skipper. Followed by a trip to Strandhill for a few days with my wife, not a great surf but good to be in the water and a great few days away.. and then a good session on 12th at West strand. But the best had to be last night. The last surf of the day at East strand. Pure class. Got up there and ended up catchin a couple of mates in the water that I hadn't seen in a while... Some massive sets comin in and got to rip it. Started off with my Quad but ended up gettin the Mini-Mal to catch some cracker waves. Good times. Can't wait to the next session which hopefully won't be too long to wait.. Got Ice Hockey training tonight which should be good. Hopefully the coach doesn't wanna do contact drills.. Not really a fan of the gettin hit part lol.

Waiting...

Why is it we're always waiting... Waiting for surf, for work to finish, for an email/letter.. Well they're the main things I'm waitin on... I went for an interview for promotion a couple of weeks ago and was told I would have found out by last Fri.. That didn't happen. I'm still waitin. Im also waitin to get some decent swell to get a surf it's been way too long from the last day I was out. Hopefully will be somethin in Sligo next week. That's where the wife and I are headin for a few days. But right now I'm just waiting for work to finish today. My word has it been dragging. Hopefully the afternoon might go in a bit quicker!
Ah well fingers crossed

Coronas = Awesome!

Sat 2nd June was an amazing night out at Mandela Hall. We went to see the Coronas in concert.. Pure class. Started off with a group that had backed them before (Microlip) who didn't disappoint with a class performance and great opening to the night. Following them a group from down south called Royseven carried on what was the beginning of a great evening. Def need to get their album now it's released. Then it was time for the main reason we were there... The Coronas.. Who opened with 'What you think you know' and continued with classics such as heroes or ghosts and San Diego song. Finishing off with Addicted to progress, warm and closer to you. Was an unforgettable concert. Cant wait to see what the have in store for us in the coming year.

Time Off...

Well I'm just back to work after almost two weeks off... Started with an Ice Hockey match against the UK Tornados. Was class. We won 10-2 one of the goals which I managed to score. Then an after party at Horatio Todds and over to Stormont Hotel. I left there about 2.30 or 3 am to drive home and the party was still goin on. Needless to say the following day was spent chillin before headin off to Paris with my wife the next morning. Had a great time.. Stayed at a camp site in Joinville le Pont. Such a beaut place. The camp site was right beside the river which was a great place to read a book or watch the world go by. Of course we did the sights and hit up Disney and Parc Asterix. Was a great break from the usual hectic life. Got to spend some time at Notre Dame, my fav place in Paris. Watchin some fire jugglers. Good times. Then when we came back had a few days off so hit the coast for a picnic and a surf. Brilliant way to spend the hols.

Busy Day...

Ok so Sat was a bit mental, Mental but awesome... Was workin in the leisure centre in the a.m. Then left straight from there and headed to The Port.. The Portrush open was on, not that I really seen much of it cause I was more interested in gettin a surf myself. Then after spending the guts of 3 hours catchin some pretty decent waves I headed back to Belfast to drop of my boards and gear and pick up my hockey kit to then head to a mates 30th birthday before actually goin to Ice Hockey practice. Man was I slightly wrecked when I got into bed that night... Only slightly tho. Can't wait to do it all again soon!

Playlist...

Do you ever get fed up listenin to the same stuff on your iPod?! That's the kinda feelin I have at the minute. So I've decided to make a new playlist or two. Figured a surf themed one and an ice hockey one would go down a treat. Only problem is I'm not sure what vibe I want on them. So hopefully with a few requests on FB/Twitter I'll get a good set of tunes to listen to!

Grown up?

Well I haven't been on here in a while but to get up to date... I got married!! Can't believe it! People keep tellin me I'm all grown up now! I'm not so sure lol. Think I may have more responsibility but as for being grown up.. I reckon I'm still the big kid I always am. On another note. My mate Colin came home from Austrailia. Hadn't seen him for about 4 months or more. Got a good surf session with him to make up for the lack of banter. On a not so nice note... I had to go back to work after havin 3 weeks off. That SUCKED.
